S Around Cape Caution
Woke up at 4:30, and took Maui to shore. I didn’t sleep very well last night. That’s common for me, I get too anxious.
I emptied and lifted the dinghy by myself with the help of the winch.
I wasn’t expecting Brian to get out of bed, but next thing I knew, he was in the cockpit, ready to take the helm while I pulled up the anchor.
He said he feels slightly better than yesterday, definitely not worse, which is so great.
We watched the sunrise as we left what’s called the Central Coast. Brian was at the helm until 8:30. That was so nice! Gave me a chance to relax, bathroom and eat before my turn at the helm.
Sea conditions are ok. Much better than when we went north. There is swell and yesterday would have been the perfect day to go, but here we are. We wanted to know what Fury Cove was like for future visits since it’s such a common spot for this crossing.
Maui was in and out of the cockpit today, sticking close by when she could.
More to update later…
