I started the day by catching 5 crabs! 2 were keepers! Wahoo!

Then we left for poison cove, on our friends boat, (so it won’t show up on our tracker).

We tried to see grizzlies, but I think we were a bit too early in the season.

We did see some beautiful scenery though and an epic waterfall. It was nice having someone else drive the boat, while we could just enjoy the sights.

We shared a potluck lunch on board. Deeeelicous.

When we got back, I had 1 more keeper crab in trap, and Paul gave me an extra, so I hit my daily limit of 4!!

Then I cooked and processed all that crab. It took almost 2 hours.

Learning how to catch crabs was a goal of mine last summer, and I didn’t even put the trap out once. – regulations are a lot more flex in Canada, and I didn’t have the trap for very long, before we were back in the states.

Anyway… So I made it a goal for this summer. I’m so happy. I’m learning it! I’m figuring it out. It takes me a loooong time to get the crabs out of the trap 1 by 1 (so I don’t get pinched) BUT I’m doing it.

Brian also helped me discover a great way to kill them. Super fast without handling them. It’s the circle of life out here. And I thank every crab for its nourishment.
