Was a decently technical pass.

And visibility was really poor. Foggy and spitting rain.

At the start of the passage there was a call on the VHF that was quite startling. It was a man yelling “in the 25 years I’ve been boating. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen. You’re a fucking idiot!!!” I wanted to know what happened and luckily I got to find out because the Coast guard got on the radio and said I heard your call. Are you in need of assistance. The man said Coast guard. I do not need assistance. I just nearly got hit by a power boater in a really narrow pass.

The Coast guard asked. Is there any damage or any injury to anyone on board. The man responded there are no injuries and no damage. Coast guard standing by.

Hearing this is jarring because it signals to me that there is an idiot in my near vicinity because I could hear this radio call so clearly. Well, as we went through Myers pass and the shallowest and narrowest point, there was a local fishing boat that came barreling toward us.

But One of the most inspiring things I see out here is a kayaker because we’re in the middle of nowhere, they are truly exposed to all the elements.

Haha, and here I am under the bimini with a hand warmer in my pocket.

While underway today, around… 1:30 in the afternoon, our Starlink stopped working. We were so lucky to be near a native community that has cell service. Brian was able to use cell service to research outages, and sure enough there was a worldwide Starlink outage. No more working today I guess.

We also used this passage to do some potty training with Maui. We had 2 successful pees.
