Codville Lagoon
Put out the crab trap… We’ll see!
And went for a muddy hike with a few others to a freshwater lake.
As we arrived back to our dinghies, Brian yelled at us from the boat “Barb and Willy, I think your anchor is dragging!”
And sure enough, one glance you could easily tell they had moved quite a bit.
Brian had been watching their boat drag, and was trying to get a hold of me, to relay the message. I didn’t have the Garmin in-reach turned on.
So… This is a great opportunity for us to learn and make a change in our habits.
Tonight I think we’ll try to take a look at the in-reach and do some tests so that we have some way to communicate when one of us is on land for an extended period of time.
Funny thing was that I was going to pack the portable VHF with me, but didn’t because I was going in a group. The hike was too far so that wouldn’t have worked.
PS. Barb and Willy’s boat is just fine, they didn’t hit anything or run aground. They re-anchored, and are set now.
We invited Barb and Willy over after dinner to play cards. We taught them skipbo and they taught us 99.
After, Brian made himself mini mint ice cream sandwiches, and said they hit the spot.
