Sea state isn’t the most pleasant. It’s manageable for sure, but… It’s at the level where we’ve trapped Maui in our bedroom. We have a threshold for that, and we’ve crossed it.

If either of us was prone to seasickness… We might be miserable today. Had we gotten a second margarita last night, we might be telling a different story.

Wind has been consistent. 12-15 knots and then 17-19 knots. Waves are inconsistent… Splashes on the dodger and occasionally light splashes on the face of whoever is at the helm. We’re taking turns at the helm, to get a break from the cold wind.

We debated about crossing today. Tomorrow is a no-go day. So we would have needed to wait until Monday. Which meant that we’d be anchoring in Nanaimo, and we hate anchoring there. So we decided to go.
